As I guess you have noticed, I haven’t been blogging much, mostly because my life is a total bore at the moment. When the highlight of my week is dealing with a pigeon that got stuck in the library, then I know there is nothing that is blog-worthy.

I’ve been posting random quotes that I read on blogs and whatnot, because it is fast/easy. I’m also on Twitter because it is awesome. Besides that, I don’t have the stamina to do much else. Hopefully after May 21st, I can come back and bring something more to the blog-o-land. /excuses

Less than two weeks! So. Excited.

There’s a cycle to all this:

Wake up, hate world, feel too tired to go on.
1st caffeine hit. The world is my oyster, I can do anything!
Study, study, study.
Feel good about myself… I finally understand [insert topic I didn’t bother learning in the past]!
Lunch!
2nd caffeine hit. The day is almost done, I can do this!
Wall. Ouch.
How much more of this do I really need to do? Do I really need to know these details? I hate my life.

Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

If this is all going to end well though, I’m gonna have to figure out how I get over that wall. Daily.

Here are some med students in Sweden. Sometimes I think I picked the wrong country to go to medical school. Although I don’t think it would be fun to go to school with a student who was both a Nazi sympathizer and convicted murderer.

So what if I wanted to do Medicine for my first rotation and then Peds and OB/GYN my second and third rotation? Should I put those as my first priority for each rotation? But then what if I don’t get Medicine in the first round, should I put Peds and something else next? I don’t want to do OB/GYN during the summer, so do I put that as option 9? But then what happens for the next block? Should I still put those first or put those second and then Medicine first? Or should I lie to the computer and say that I want Psych first, but then say “Sike!” and then later switch into Primary Care? But then what about if I do something that I want to do first? Does it ruin things? Or should I do the opposite of what I want to do, then change back just in case I don’t want to do what I think I want to do?

There is a new two-disc charity compilation out with an awesome collection of (mostly) indie-folkish musicians doing amazing things. I haven’t gone through this album completely yet (I’ve only had it for a few days), but I already love it. Not only am I discovering new faves (My Brightest Diamond, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings), but I also get excited being surprised by who will show up on it next (Is that Feist x 2? My Morning Jacket? Yay for Bon Iver!).

The charity is for AIDS or something (I’m almost positive it does not involve spreading it… I think), so download it legally here!
